Dr. Victor Hasson is a co-founder of the internationally renowned Hasson & Wong Hair Transplant Clinic in Vancouver, British Columbia. Originally from Harare, Zimbabwe, Dr. Hasson moved to South Africa to attend the University of Cape Town, where he earned his medical degree in 1984. He subsequently practiced as an Emergency Medical Officer across Canada from 1986 to 1992 before turning his focus to hair restoration surgery in 1993.
After completing his surgical preceptorship in Vancouver and training at several leading hair transplant centers across Canada, Dr. Hasson partnered with Dr. Jerry Wong in 1997 to establish the Hasson & Wong Clinic. Together, they have built one of the world's most respected hair transplant practices.
Dr. Hasson is recognized as a pioneer of the lateral slit technique, which raised the standard for natural-looking hair transplant results across the industry. He also helped develop a custom blade device that enables ultra-dense packing of transplanted follicles by precisely matching blade width to each patient's individual follicle size. These innovations helped establish Hasson & Wong as a global leader in hair transplant surgery.
With over 7,500 procedures performed, Dr. Hasson has developed an expert eye for intricate surgical details. He is known for his efficient "one pass approach," achieving desired density in a single procedure rather than two or three. He routinely performs procedures of 3,500 to 4,500 follicular unit grafts per day, per patient, and regularly harvests over 5,000 follicular unit grafts in one session.
Dr. Hasson has been invited to present at numerous ISHRS conferences and is a Fellow of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (FISHRS). He performs both Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) and state-of-the-art Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT), emphasizing the importance of an artistic approach to all aspects of follicular unit graft placement.
